Wellness weekend in Bad Schandau

  • November 6, 2018

We spent last weekend in a small and pretty spa town very close to the Czech border. I couldn't imagine a better start to November! The ride itself was actually a little bit shorter than the time it takes to visit my parents in South Bohemia, which is quite funny. The biggest highlight of the weekend was Liquid sound festival in Toskana Therme near the five star Hotel Elbresidenz with luxury rooms and spectacular view from the balcony. After the last few weeks of hard work, a wellness weekend was much needed

The beauty of the Bad Schandau and where to go

Walking through the city or town is always a great opportunity to get to know all the cultural vibes from a different place. We never miss the highest viewpoint when visiting a town. It’s definitely worth visiting the historic elevator, a viewpoint 50 meters above the town which gives a truly wonderful view of the valley. It doesn't take much time to get there and the view during the autumn days is truly breathtaking. You can take the lift up and then walk down to town. This area is full of great places so just one weekend really isn't enough for exploring the wonderful Saxon Switzerland.

Floating in music
| Toskanaworld

You are floating in warm and salty water in a colorfully lit pool. The music comes both from above and below the water surface so you can hear music under the water which I've never experienced before. I only took a few photos during my visit. I didn't want to bother other guests and we were also enjoying a little time offline. You don't want to spend your whole wellness weekend with a phone in hand. P.S.: Liquid sound is celebrating 25 years, happy birthday!:)

Visiting Bastei bridge in the morning

Another amazing highlight of the weekend! Waking up at 5.50 AM was really worth it. Who likes crowded places?! Not us, so waking up very early is the only way to experience the place without tons of people around. Even if you do wake up a few hours earlier you will probably just meet some photographers and instagramers catching the "not very original" shot.

A little bit more shots from Hotel

A single weekend could be enough to leave the stress of everyday life behind. I would love to say many thanks again to the amazing people at Hotel Elbresidenz for having us. You provided such a great service, delicious food, and an incredible, full program. And I want to thank Hana for inviting us. Thank you!

Už jste někdy navštívili Bad Schandau? Have you visited this lovely place?

  11. The Saxon Switzerland National Park is a very popular destination for trips to a serene place - and I can totally see why. The woods look wonderful - and must be so pretty now that the leaves are changing color. I'm a total SPA-buff, so the place would be just perfect for me.
